The developer, Mr John Richardson, economist by profession and developer by trade, brings to Montañas de Caldera a wealth of knowledge from the construction industry in Europe where, since 1895, three generations of his family have specialized in the construction of residential and commercial buildings.

Richardson’s commercial portfolio also includes residential developments in Florida and the Cayman Islands, demonstrating his ability to cater to a variety of international markets. Almost three years ago he brought his family to Panama to retire in Chiriquí and soon realized that the Boquete area, with its influx of foreigners, especially ‘baby boomers’, would benefit enormously from his expertise. And so the Montañas de Caldera project came into being.

JR, as he in known to his friends, has always ensured that his projects exceed the highest quality standards and Montañas de Caldera is no exception. Most construction materials have been imported from the US and Europe, and electrical and other engineering standards comply with rigorous international codes.
